Dabangg: Salman is back

Dabangg : Go Watch IT

Movie Review: Dabangg; Cast: Salman Khan, Introducing Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood, Arbaaz Khan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Dimple Kapadia, Vinod Khanna; Directed by: Abhinav Kashyap; Rating: ** 1/2
So here it is. A new genre of cinema. The Spaghetti Eastern. The velocity is virulent. The violence is relentless. The narrative doesn’t pause for action. It is between bouts of the violence that characters take a breather to say things to one another that they don’t really mean.
This then is “Dabangg”. A world swarming with uni-dimensional characters who seem to know exactly which way the fists fly. We certainly don’t. The comic book hero Chulbul Pandey, played with lip smacking pleasure by Salman Khan, shows up in every dingy warehouse in this mofussil town to settle scores, man to man.
“Dabangg” is the kind of oldfashioned family drama combined with a vendetta saga that we thought had gone out of fashion in the 1980s. Chulbul Pandey could have been played by Amitabh Bachchan 30 years ago. Yes, that killing comic dimension that Salman brings into his characters has its roots in the Big B’s action-comedy films.
And Dimple Kapadia, wheezing, coughing, groaning and ranting her way through the mother’s role (what got into Dimple???) hams her way through this action drama where being opulently outrageous comes naturally to everyone.
But all said and damned, there is something to be said about Salman’s Chulbul Pandey’s ability to be cartoonish, caricatural and larger than life and yet warm and very real in his tongue-in-cheek bravura.
Some of the less over-punctuated moments in this film of ceaseless bone-crunching sound-effects occur each time Chulbul woos his bulbul Rajjo (debutant Sonakshi Sinha). Each time she passes by Salman becomes putty in her hands. The debutante has eyes that plead for peace. But who’s listening? The raucous riotous soundtrack is slave only to the rhythm of blood gore and screams of innumerable goons crashing through wooden supports that have seen better days.
The action sequences are the backbone of this bone-breaking actioner. The stunts are done in an enticing mix of masti and mayhem. The crusted dusty-brown unwashed ambience is created with care. But the plot is almost completely free of delicate moments.
“Dabangg” is Ram Gopal Varma’s “Shool” on steroids. In “Shool” Manoj Bajpai was the honest cop on a cleansing spree in a Bihari backwater town. In “Dabangg” Salman takes on the mofussil mafia with much more humour than Bajpai could muster.
It is the need of the hour. We have to laugh away the corruption and violence all around us. Salman does a splendid job of it. It’s hard to tell where debutant director Abhinav Kashyap’s abilities end and the action director Vijayan Master begin. That seamless quality goes well with this unpunctuated tribute to the spirit of free-for-all one-upmanship.
An ear-catching music score by Sajid-Wajid does diminish the level of violence in the presentation. Sonakshi Sinha uses her eyes beautifully. And the song “Tere mast mast do nayan” describes her eloquent expressions well.
But this is a Salman Khan vehicle all the way. He gets to be funny, wicked and belligerent… sometimes all at once. Sonu Sood as the main antagonist brings an in-your-face menace to his villainy.
He is in character. Though Salman slips out of character quite often.
And quite happily.

Octopus Paul's prediction for world cup.: Waka for Spain or Holland

The psychic Octopus Paul predicted the match of Spain Vs Holland and Paul is a main hero in the FIFAWorld Cup 2010 after representing whetherGermany would success or lose each of their six games during the tournament. Now, Paul predicted the winner of Finals match Spain Vs Netherlands and they played at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday.
The Octopus Paul has predicted that Spain will triumph in the World Cup final against the Dutch and will make the history in this World Cup as Spain never touches the Cup. The animal prediction, who has correctly predict the victor of each match played by Germany, has backed the side to triumph Sunday’s much predictable game in Johannesburg.
The psychic Paul currently resides at the Sea Life Aquarium in Oberhausen in Germany. Paul uses an odd way of picking the winner of the forthcoming match. He picks a mussel from any one of the two matching containers to propose the winning team.
The Holland twice lost soccer World Cup finals in the 1970s, while Spain will play its 1st on July 11 in Johannesburg. The eight-tentacle oracle drew cries of despair from assembled watchers earlier to the semifinals round; when he lingers over the box for the German flag before choose for the Spanish flag instead. Spain won the match 1-0.

IIFA Awards:Will Bollywood Givein To The Pressure Put By South Cinema Industry

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards will be held this year at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo from July 2 to July 4. And the world is going to watch charismatic actors like Sharuk Khan, Amitabh Bachan, Aiswarya rai are going to perform in the stages of Colombo to cheer the nation and the world to say loud that this country is an innocent country.Three day Bollywood extravaganza known as one of the biggest and powerful event of its kind s going to be performed in a country known for all wrong reasons. There is more to concern for such an event to happen in the island nation where civilized society upholding human values is trying its best to earn a justice for the Tamil war crime victims and crimes against humanity. It is very important and critical for us to understand the idea behind conducting such an event in Colombo and why India went out of its way to favor its unfriendly partner, Sri lanka. India has a history to save an unethical racist regime for decades who in the past never been a trust worthy partner and an undemocratic unitary state.

Meanwhile back in India the South Cinema Industry has decided to Ban IIFA awards ,because the awards will be held in Colombo. The South Cinema Industry is protesting against the injustice done on Tamilians by Srilankan Government.

The Big question is will Bollywood givein to the pressure put by South Cinema Industry.

Movie Kites Review:Will Kites Fly High or Will Distributor Go Flying Kites

Since the day it was announced, Kites has been surrounded by controversy, rumor, and hype. Directed by Bollywood outsider Anurag Basu working on his first big budget film, Kites was a gamble for producer Rakesh Roshan. Even starring the notoriously dedicated Hrithik Roshan, success was not guaranteed - the lack of proper song picturizations, the unknown heroine, and the foreign setting were all gambles. Not to mention that the cast and crew have been taking every opportunity to remind viewers that Kites is not meant to be a Bollywood film, a strategy that (at best) seems disrespectful to the Bollywood loving crowds who the makers of Kites hope turn up at their screenings. But after seeing the film, none of that matters because Anurag Basu has given us an amazing film which combines the gritty style he perfected in Gangster: A Love Story with a big dose of Rakesh Roshan crowd pleasing élan. In other word, Kites is a pure Bollywood entertainer from start to finish.

The story unfolds through a series of flashbacks in the trademarked Anurag Basu style. When we first meet J (Hrithik Roshan), he is in rough shape - alone, bloodied, and bruised. Soon, we're whipped back three months to the shiny streets of Las Vegas where we follow J's quest for financial stability. He falls in with the daughter of a gangster (Kangana Ranaut) and seems set for life until he meets his future sister-in-law Natasha (Barbara Mori) and sparks fly. Through a series of misunderstandings and bad choices, Natasha and J end up on the run together and end up further igniting the flames the passion.

Anurag's script is very clever and he often sets up scenes that appear to be resolving one way only to flip it around and totally foil the audience's expectations. He walks the tightrope between earnest and ironic as nimbly as Pran in Don, never falling too far to one side or the other. For every scene that is gleeful in its campy ridiculousness (an old-fashioned Western saloon shoot out, for example) there is one that touches the heart with its emotional sincerity. And J and his Mexican paramour journey from the cliched love-at-first-sight fantasy couple to a pair of lovers who will willingly risk their lives for one another. While the plot of Kites is a delicious, but manufactured confection, the emotion laid out between J and Natasha is the real and honest core of the film.

And the actors are more than up to the challenges laid out by Anurag. Hrithik Roshan is every inch the star of the film but he doesn't play the invulnerable Bollywood hero. Much like inJodhaa-Akbar, his grand heroics are tempered by scenes of emotional vulnerability. Matching him in everything except dancing is Barbara Mori, who was quite the revelation. She has a natural charisma and charm that comes across even as she has to communicate in broken English. The supporting cast is also excellent from Kangana's spoiled daughter act to Nicholas Brown's sultry gangster and Kabir Bedi's gruff casino owner.

As for the music, there is one fantastic dance number early on in the film ('Fire') featuring Kangana and Hrithik, since it seems that Anurag subscribes to the sensible school of film making in which one never casts Bollywood's best dancer without giving him at least one dance number. The other songs were picturized over montages and worked well in context. The surprised standout was 'Kites in the Sky', sung by Hrithik himself. While the song had not impressed as a standalone track, seen as part of the film, it is a touching and emotional song. Hrithik's untrained vocals lend an air of earnestness and simplicity to the scene that a professional would not have been able to capture.

While the film certainly has the potential to cross over to an international audience, whether it does or not is irrelevant because the Kitesteam have proven that it is possible to make a film that interprets mainstream Bollywood in all its big budget glory into a film style that works on both the world stage and at home.

I think Kites is a good movie ,but will appeal to only that class of audience who love action.locations and Hritik Roshan.Worth a watch once.

Apple's Ipad Unleashed :Pros and Cons

Finally the wait is over for Apple and Steve Jobs.Their most ambitious project Apple Ipad in lauched and is making news in the market. The first day sales of the device crossed  100000 units!! as per the stats published in US.

College Katta team did some research and tried too find out the pros and cons of Ipad

Specification of Apple Ipad
Apple iPad weighs just 680 grams and its.5 inch thin.
There is Bluetooth with A2DP.
Runs iPhone OS 3.2.
Speaker and microphone included.
iPad includes accessories like standard Apple keyboard, cover for protection and dock.
iPad is manufactured using Eco friendly practices and non harmful components.
Apple has its own A4 1GHZ chip inside the iPad.
LED backlight display.
iPad supports
high definition video playback upto 720p.
Opens almost all video, audio files and documents.
3.5mm headphone jack.
Digital Compass.
Standard USB.
Black and white color combination.

Pros

1. The Indian price for the ipad is estimated Rs 23,000/- .Which I think is very competitive pricing

2. 1.5 pounds in weight,0 .5 inches thick. Full marks to the designers of Ipad.

4. Optional traditional keyboard good news for the people who hated typing on iphone with a touch.

5. There are few thing that my cell phone can do , but not my laptop. There are other things that can be done by laptop  but not my cell phone.Ipad is in the middle of cell phone and laptop.A new breed of gizmo.

6. With the Apple Camera Connection Kit, you can import photos from a camera or SD memory card and Ipad gives rich experience while handling photos.

7. Things that look great on the iPhone look even better on this screen. The iPod app and the iTunes store look beautiful.

8. The App Store plays so nicely. iPad will run almost 140,000 apps from the App Store. And there's a section of the App Store that focuses on apps designed just for the iPad.

9. iBooks. Once you download the app, you can purchase books from inside the app. And then you'll see whatever you've purchased on your bookshelf - which looks amazing! And in typical Apple fashion, just tap on the book and it opens for you. Simple.

10. The iWork apps are great and they work with the ones on your Mac. At $9.99 each it's a pretty decent deal. Hopefully a package deal will be worked out - no point in buying separately, but separate is a nice option.

11. 802.11n wireless technology.That makes life easy

Cons

1. No multitasking can be done. When you have such feature rich gizmo which lacks multitasking feels quite strange.Apple must do something about this.

2. No HDMI Out strange.Specially when all the latest Tv models are moving towards HDMI technology.VGA is provided though.

3. We cannot even believe a mobile phone withou camera. Can you believe an Ipad without camera.

4.No Adobe flash.Without adobe flash the experience of navigating the internet is not the same.

Well if you compare pros with cons ,I think pros are more than cons especially the price at which the Ipad is offered Rs 23,000/- only.

According to the blog, over 100 million people are actively using Facebook from their mobile device.

Other countries where the new site would be available include Brazil, Denmark, Greece, Finland, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Hungary and Indonesia.
